Stitch Engineering

Stitch Construction

Our production floor runs the full range of industrial stitch types required for export-quality garment manufacturing — from flatlock for seamless activewear to chain stitch for premium shirting. Each stitch type is selected for structural integrity, aesthetic presentation, and wash durability.

ISO 4915 · Class 400
Flatlock Stitch (401)
Two-thread chainstitch creating a flat seam on both sides of the fabric. The defining stitch of performance sportswear — lies flush against skin with zero chafe. Used on inner leg seams, panel joins, and waistband attachments in leggings and compression wear. Achieves minimum 200N seam strength under tension.

ISO 4915 · Class 400
Coverstitch (406 / 407)
Multi-needle chainstitch producing two or three parallel needle lines on the face with a looped cover on the underside. Used for waistband attachment, hem finishing on knits, and cuff binding. Provides excellent stretch retention — the stitch elongates and recovers with the fabric. Standard for premium athleisure and innerwear finishing.

ISO 4915 · Class 500
4-Thread Overlock (514)
Four-thread safety stitch combining a 2-thread chainlock with a 2-thread overlock. Produces the strongest raw-edge finish available — resists unravelling under repeated washing and high tensile load. Applied on all primary seams in knit and woven garments. Seam allowance trimmed to 6mm for clean internal presentation.

ISO 4915 · Class 300
Lock Stitch (301)
Single needle lock stitch — the industry standard for woven garment construction. Interlocked upper and lower thread produces a clean, balanced seam on both faces. Run at 11–14 SPI (stitches per inch) depending on fabric weight. Used on all main seams in shirts, trousers, and structured outerwear. Thread: polyester core-spun for strength and colour retention.

ISO 4915 · Class 300
Double Needle Top Stitch
Two parallel rows of lock stitch produced simultaneously with twin needles, creating a classic 2mm or 6mm spaced parallel stitch visible on the face of the garment. Applied on yokes, pockets, cuffs, and collar stands for a premium visual finish. Thread weight matched to base fabric — fine needle (Nm 70–80) for shirting, heavier (Nm 90–100) for denim and twill.

ISO 4915 · Class 300
Double Welt Seam
Felled seam construction with two visible rows of top stitch — the seam allowance is folded under and stitched flat, enclosing the raw edge. Produces a fully flat, reversible seam with no exposed raw edge. Used on yoke attachments, sleeve heads in shirts, and trouser inseams for export-quality construction. Standard welt width: 6mm to RTW specification.

Reinforcement
Bartack Stitch
Dense, closely-spaced zig-zag stitch applied at all stress concentration points in a garment. 42-stitch bartack at pocket corners, belt loop bases, strap attach points, and fly tack. Applied with dedicated bartack machine set to 0.8mm stitch length. Resists tearing forces exceeding 400N at the reinforced point — the international export standard for trouser and outerwear construction.

Chain Construction
Chain Stitch Hem (401)
Single-needle chainstitch applied at the hem — creates a characteristically looped underside with a clean single-row presentation on the face. Standard for premium shirting and casual bottomwear. Allows horizontal stretch at the hem without thread breakage. Stitch runs at 8–10 SPI. A deliberately chosen construction detail that signals premium manufacturing to buyers.
